Virgin Forest

This is virgin forest in Jiu Zhai Gou, Sichuan Province, China. At over 3500 meters elevation, this forest was spared the devastating clear-cutting that occurred throughout China in the 1970s and 80s.Part of a United Nations World Heritage Site, this forest and all of Jiu Zhai Gou is protected from most of the ravages of Man. Littering will cost you $1000 RMB - a full month's wages for the majority of Chinese.
